Behind THE Camera

Creativity has always been apart of my life, but my love for photography was established on a trip to Germany I took at 16. Taking photos began as a way to physically commemorate my adventures. While this still holds true, I have grown to appreciate uniqueness in each moment that unfolds in front of my camera. Today I shoot on a cannon rebel t7i, and mainly photograph street, landscape, and nature that I encounter while traveling.

University of Minnesota

Following a degree in the Mechanical Engineering Honors Program for 2 and half years before, she then transferred to Switzerland to pursue passion.

Fall 2019- Spring 2021

Franklin UniversitY Switzerland

Obtained her degree in comparative literary and cultural studies, visual arts, while taking photos in Europe

Fall 2021- Spring 2023

Documentary Photography: Munich

Through Franklin University, hands on learning allowed for the travel to Munich, where a series of workshops were taken that allowed her to learn from a professional street and fashion photographer.

Marine COnversation: Egypt & Red Sea

Through another hands on learning exprerience, through Franklin University, Gretchen traveled to Egypt and the Red Sea to learn and practice marine conservation. Also allowing time for her to take pictures.
